Jason Lee, DDS, FRCDC, Dip(ABOMS)

Education

Jason Lee, DDS, FRCDC, Dip(ABOMS), is an experienced and highly qualified board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He has been practicing since 2008, having completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003 from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He went on to complete his postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Florida School of Medicine, where he served as the Chief Resident from 2006–2007. Dr. Lee then continued his training, completing a Microvascular Reconstructive/Head and Neck Fellowship in 2008, becoming one of the first single-degree surgeons in North America to achieve this accomplishment.

Dr. Lee has been affiliated with several major tertiary hospital systems over the years and is currently on staff as a Facial Trauma and Oral Surgeon at HCA Memorial Jacksonville. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, specializing in OMFS (FRCDC) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and has training in Advanced Trauma Life Support.

In the Community

Dr. Lee has been active in the community and served in various leadership positions throughout his career. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has also been a Fellow of the International Academy of Oral Oncology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lee has had a strong commitment to giving back through volunteer work locally and internationally. He began this journey while still a dental student and at the time, he didn’t realize what he got himself into when he signed up for his first trip to Brazil. He lived on a boat for 10 days in a hammock, 15 hours down the Amazon River, providing oral surgery in a hut to the local villagers. That trip eventually ignited a fire, and he has since traveled to multiple countries, including Vietnam, Nicaragua, and the Philippines, to provide his expertise in performing critical surgeries. Since 2007, Dr. Lee has been traveling to the Philippines with the local Medical Society to provide procedures such as cleft lip and palate surgery, head and neck tumor surgery, and thyroid surgery, and has completed hundreds of these surgeries during these trips.

His commitment also extends to the local community, as he has provided many pro bono facial reconstructive surgeries through his affiliation with the local trauma center. Dr. Lee’s dedication to serving those in need is a core value that he brings to his work as a surgeon and a leader in the field.

Expertise

With Dr. Lee’s unique training in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery and microvascular surgery, he has established a successful practice that has encompassed all facets of the specialty. Dr. Lee has represented the profession as one of the first single-degree OMFS to perform head and neck and microvascular surgery in several major hospitals in the USA. He has demonstrated his expertise in a wide range of surgical procedures, from oral cancer, orthognathic, TMJ, dentoalveolar, trauma, and implant surgery. Currently, he is dedicated to utilizing his skills in dental implant full arch reconstruction, oral surgery, and facial trauma surgery, and he is excited to culminate this surgical expertise to serve patients Now.

Personal Interests

Dr. Lee is happily married with two wonderful children. He has had a passion for adventure since childhood and has surfed/foiled, rock climbed, ski mountaineered in remote destinations all over the world. He now loves bringing that sense of exploration to his family, and when he’s not in the operating room, you will find him with his family rock climbing and skiing out West or in Canada, hiking mountains, or surfing Jacksonville beach with his kids.

Dr. Nicholas Tawil

Dr. Tawil is one of Florida’s leading restorative dentists. He is firmly committed to his continuing the mission of providing affordable, quality dentistry. Dr. Tawil earned his DDS from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1986. For more than 30 years he has extended his expertise to help patients with periodontal health, comprehensive dental restoration, complex dental reconstruction, full-mouth implant restorations, and aesthetic smile design. Using a blend of traditional dental experience with modern technology, he has been helping provide function and dental rehabilitation to those faced with full-arch or full-mouth tooth loss.

Barrett R. Tolley, DDS

Dr. Tolley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He maintains the highest accreditation and is committed to lifelong learning, keeping current in knowledge and skills, and practicing in a safe and contemporary manner.

In 1997, Barrett R. Tolley earned his undergraduate degree in Biology Magna Cum Laude at Florida State University. He then attended is a fourth generation graduate of the University of Maryland/ Baltimore College of Dental Surgery (The world’s first Dental School). He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) in 2002.

Following dental school, Dr. Tolley moved on to Jacksonville, Florida where he completed a rigorous four (4) year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida/ Shands Jacksonville. Residents receive extensive training in all aspects of contemporary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including Maxillofacial Trauma/Reconstruction, Head and Neck Oncology/Pathology, Temporomandibular Joint Surgery, Dental Implant Surgery, Facial Aesthetic Surgery, Traditional Oral Surgery, and IV Sedation/General Anesthesia.

UF/Shands Jacksonville is also a Level I Trauma Center. Residents are exposed and trained in the art and care of the Maxillofacial Trauma.

Following his residency, Dr. Tolley completed a one year associate position in Lakeland, Florida and then decided to open a practice in Tallahassee. The development of the trauma center at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital was pivotal in Dr. Tolley’s decision to return to the Tallahassee area. His kinship with FSU also encouraged his return to the state’s capital.

In 2007 with the support of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Dr. Tolley founded the Oral and Facial Surgery Center of Tallahassee. Dr. Tolley is also currently affiliated with Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee performing oral trauma surgery and treating dental emergencies.

The Oral and Facial Surgery Center serves local patients in Tallahassee and surrounding counties. His practice is full scope with particular interests in Maxillofacial Trauma, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Facial Surgery, Anesthesia, Orthognathic Surgery, and General Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Tolley also obtained additional skills including the completion of The Difficult Airway Course, Intermediate Computing Skills, and Intermediate Level of Spanish.
